1. What is Arctic Ski Maraton?

Arctic Ski Maraton is a 2-day cross-country ski event based in Saariselkä, Lapland, Finland. The event consists of Arctic Super Sprint and Arctic Ski Maraton.

2. How can I get to Saariselkä?

Saariselkä is located in Finnish Lapland, 260km north from the Arctic Circle. You can travel to Saariselkä by car via E75, by bus, by airplane, or by combined train + bus journey.

The closest airport is located in Ivalo and the closest railway station in Rovaniemi. There are connecting bus connection from both the airport and the railway station.

3. How is the weather?

Mid-February is typically cold, bright, and sunny. Be prepared for perfect conditions for classic cross-country skiing, hunting the northern lights, and perfect winter landscape.

4. What about the tracks?

We have chosen the most beautiful fell ski tracks to Arctic Ski Maraton. The magnificent views to Urho Kekkonen national park reward after the long climbs.

5. What is Super Sprint?

Arctic Super Sprint is a 100m ski race on freestyle. Children (1-12y) and company class ski qualification with interval start. Juniors and adults ski qualification and 2-skier knock out heats.

6. Prizes

Three best on each class will be awarded. Three fastest on the Arctic Ski Maraton 45km will be awarded with a money prize.

All the children will be awarded in the Arctic Super Sprint .

7. What about the track fee?

Of course! The registration fee of Arctic Ski Maraton includes a 5€ track fee. 50% of the registration fees of the company class in Arctic Super Sprint will be directed to the track maintenance.
